Zesty Grilled Corn Salad
This is a simple and yet very delicious fresh salad. The grilled corn really brings out the sweetness. You also get the nice smoky flavor from wood grilling. Optionally, gas or electric grill works fine on the corn. Corn should be grilled with the husk off.
Ingredients:
8 ears of corn, husk removed
1-2 jalapeno, seeded, and minced
4 garlic, crushed and minced
1 red onion, finely chopped
1 red bell pepper,finely chopped
1 bunch of cilantro, roughly chopped
5-6 tbsp of italian dressing
salt and pepper to taste
2-3 tbsp of grated parmesan cheese
2 tbsp of olive oil for sprinkling on the corn while on grill

Seared Ahi Tuna with Pineapple Salsa

This is an over-the-top ahi tuna dish. I have never done tuna this way before, but I've been thinking about doing it for a while. Tuna searing is pretty common, as well as the use of sesame seed. I thought that adding pineapple would enhance the tuna flavor. Pineapple and fish is commonly used together in chinese seafood dishes. Give this recipe a try and I think you will love it. The wild ahi ...

Healthy salad with soy & peanut vinaigrette dressing

Its salad week at home. So I've been making my own salad dressing. I think this is the 3rd dressing I made this week from scratch. This dressing uses peanuts, honey, soy sauce, ginger, cider vinegar, olive oil, black pepper. Not only this dressing is great with salad, use it also for marinating chicken, and fish. For pure vegan salad, substitute honey with agave nectar or corn syrup.

Hi: Is this method good for all the Bok Choys? I'm new at cooking and buying Bok Choy. I was only able to get Bok Choy, Long Bok Choy and Shanghai Bok Choy. I purchased all 3 types. They all look much bigger than that Baby Bok Choy. I want to try your recipe. It looks easier than some of the other ones. Thanks for your assistance.

Went to the Hilo farmers market yesterday and went wild, decided to try this recipe w/ a few substitutions, I discovered I was out of sesame oil, so I used equal parts extra light virgin olive oil and cooking oil where oil was called for. Also instead of white wine I used Koshiki Junzukuri Northern skies sake, it is mild w/ citrus overtones like white wine, used a medium Maui sweet onion finely chopped in lieu of the shallots. The basic recipe that Chef Jarod provides is very easy to adapt to what you have at home...be adventurous and experiment, hey if all else fails I have a yard full of feral chickens and they will eat anything!! Mahalo Nui Chef Jarod for a recipe that will forever now be in my favorites book of what is for suppa!!

very nice. i like your techniques. an adapted version with few additional techniques/options to save time and energy for meal preps: blanche the bok choy in boiling hot water just 60 seconds and then scoop them into an ice bath right after (you can use the remaining bok choy rest of week, just make sure to strain them completely and line your storage bowl with a rag or towel paper underneath the bok choy to help collect all the water, its a resto technique and works great) for stir fry (adapted version): Add some sliced ginger into the oil with that garlic some oyster sauce into that soy mix throw in blanched bok choy, add bit of salt, msg and white pepper, dash of shoaxing vinegar, some meat/bone broth/stock (instead of water), fry it up and stir quickly on high heat for a quick 30 seconds and voila its resto style, easy to mimick at home too.

This video is almost 12 years old and still, to this day, the absolute best bok choy recipe I’ve found on UA-cam. It is so delicious that every time I make it, the family is at the table waiting. Hi Swagata: you could reduce the amount of liquid to make it dryer. Reducing cook time will also make the veggie less wet and more crunchy. Hope that helps.
